1. Curry wart with fries

You’ve just arrived so you’re probably hungry. If not, give it a try. Don’t be afraid as vegetables and vegetables are there! Berlin is incredibly animal-free food-friendly, so vegetable and vegan options aren’t too far away. Do some research in advance. oh! Of course, mitt fries = with fries!

Try it: Curry 36.

2. Take a closer look at Berlin Cathedral

Next thing on the agenda – a little bit of tourists. This 19th century cathedral is a beautiful spectacle and helps to bring to mind the vast number of different architectural themes offered in Berlin.

3. Visit the Brandenburg Gate

…And a little more tourists. If you have your first visit here, you can’t!

4. Shop at Mauer Park Getaway Market

While living in my Berlin apartment, one of my favorite things was wandering around Mauer Park for a few kilometres on Sundays and grab some bargains in the morning. Be sure to come early, this place is full of people after noon!

5. Walk along the Berlin wall

A little history time. Most of the Berlin Wall was demolished long ago, some of which have been recovered as signs of the past at weddings and mittes, but Berlin is always looking to the future. You can learn a lot about the Berlin Wall and this period of history. Spend your time exploring and learning here between free information points.

6. Check out the East Side Gallery

The East Side Gallery is part of the Berlin Wall and is used as a form of expression, approximately 1.3 km long and is filled with graffiti commemorating Berlin’s freedom. The gallery is truly impressive, unique in Berlin, and even free!

7. Visit Photo Automaten

yes! It was my first reaction when I learned about the old photo booth machines that are still working throughout Berlin. If you’re walking around town, you’re supposed to bump into one, so jump into the booth and try to carry some changes (usually 4 euros) to make memories in the old way!

8. Visiting monuments to murdered Jews in Europe

Berlin’s Jewish history is still highly visible throughout the city, especially with an artistic monument designed by Jewish architect Daniel Libeskind. The monument takes the shape of David’s explosive star in the form of 2,711 blocks. To walk through more emotional history, visit the Holocaust Museum while you’re in Berlin.

9. Climbing to the Capitol

For the best views of Berlin, you should visit Reichstag (the German government’s home). Admission is free, but you must register in advance to secure a spot. It’s worth a little extra effort.

10. Visit Museum Island

If you’re a museum fan, you’re going to be on the Cloud Nine in Berlin (yes, technically a small island). Located in Mitte (Central), you can easily pass on a day of visiting many museums that cater to every benefit.

11. Eating a hamburger with Prenzlauer Berg’s “Birds”

One thing is certain in Berlin. The food is great and I mean it’s great. If you’re chasing burgers and fries, look no further than birds. Also, it’s located in a truly lovely residential area in town and is for a walk so make sure you spend your time in the lush wonderland!

The Bird: Am Falkplatz 5

12. PotsdamerPlatz spin 360

So you may not need to come here for anything other than shopping, but if you like streets filled with busy crowds and people, Potsdamer Platz might be quite fun to look around.

13. We’ll have a picnic at Tiagarten

Because who doesn’t like picnics! ? Of course, you need to be in Berlin in the summer for this… winter is pretty harsh, dull, and grey!

14. See Checkpoint Charlie

Return to tourists around town: You can’t come to Berlin without finding Checkpoint Charlie, the city’s best known checkpoint as it was decades ago, and still visible today.

15. Explore Kreuzberg

If you’re like me and want to find the coolest areas in town and explore like a local, try jumping on all sorts of transport and heading to Crowsburg. Certainly explore the coolest neighborhoods in Berlin.

16. Eat Winner Schnitzel

Of course you’re in Germany!

17. *Maybe * Visit an abandoned theme park

Now, for legal reasons, I can’t tell you to do it, but there’s a slightly higher chance that I’ve done it myself (Watch this video) And it was fun/fun on a fun scale. Luckily I wasn’t caught (my friend did) and I honestly say there wasn’t much backlash. If you’re serious about lyl thrills, this is a fun adventure (if you want to do more research, it’s called Spreepark).

18. Visit the German Christmas Market

If you were able to be in Berlin in November/December (or if you don’t like the cold weather, you’re not lucky!!). Gendarmenmarkt is my history mood and is always full of many locals.

19. Thursday’s food stall

Love street food, anything (whatever is fine, be careful), go to street food on Thursdays at Marktar Nong from 5pm to 10pm.

20. Ride a round town on a bike for the day

One thing is certain when you visit Berlin. You will soon find that this city is huge. As locals do, rent a bike for the day and check out the items listed above from the list… otherwise you’ll be here for more than a week!

Have you ever been to Berlin? What’s your favorite thing? ?
